WORK FOR A NZ COMPANY THAT STILL MANUFACTURES IN NZ! (and has done for 40 years!)

We are looking for someone with to join our small tool-making team. This would suit someone who is good with their hands and able to shape and sculpt, with an eye for detail.

  • Otahuhu office, parking available, very close to train station
  • Permanent role, Monday to Thurs 8am - 5pm, Friday 8am to 4pm
  • 41.5 Hours a week, above market hourly rates

A 100% NZ owned and operated family business who manufacture and distribute car, ute, 4x4 and truck accessories. 

Job Description – Toolmaker 

  • Measure/mould off new vehicle
  • Product design (assistance will be provided)
  • Build tooling, shaping and contouring of mould
  • Testing prototype
  • Liaise weekly (or more often if required) with export manager to adhere to set schedules for design/production
  • Test product through to approved manufacture

About you:

  • Experience / history in the automotive industry is not essential, but may be an advantage
  • Welding experience – some light welding is required (ticket not essential)
  • Good eye for detail
  • Good shaping/carving skills
  • Keep a clean and tidy work environment
  • Panel beating & experience with panel bog or similar may be beneficial•
  • A strong command of the English language is a must
  • Self-starter able to work largely unsupervised
  • Able to work to agreed schedules and work at pace without compromising on quality and accuracy
  • Process driven – follow agreed processes
  • Positive and optimistic outlook with a can-do attitude
  • Energy and enthusiasm
  • Able to work unsupervised
