This GapGuard kit is highly suitable for most modern and classic utes where there is a gap between the tailgate and the tray open and closed. While the length is standard at 1.5 m, you should check the width of your tray and the actual gap to ensure a proper fit. Installation is straightforward — mounting involves self-adhesive 3m tape.
Installation Tips
Clean and prepare surface: Ensure the tailgate/tray mating surfaces are clean, dry and free of oil or debris. Usethe supplied wipes ad prep wipes and allow o dry.
Measure the gap width: Confirm the gap you’re covering is within the 1.5 m length of the kit.
Cut the GapGuard to length. With the smaller portion, cut it into 2 or 3 smaller strips and use each of these to test fit to find the most suitable location before mounting the complete GapGuard
Fit the cover: Align the GapGuard seal between tray and tailgate, ensuring even coverage along the full length.
Adhere: Carefully peel back the backing tape and adhere in place. Firmly pressing into place.
Check operation: Open and close your tailgate a few times to ensure there’s no interference, binding or excess strain on the seal.
